A Small Introduction to Mr. “Steven Fiche”

I was first introduced to Steven Fiche’s work earlier this year, and after wandering around his website knew I had to bring some of his work out to Chicago. Mr. Fiche melds together varying levels of sci-fi, psychedelic poster art, op art, and hand-drawn text with an intensely saturated color palette and good old-fashioned imagination that I have been (unbeknownst to myself) longing to see.

For ‘A Walk Through the Dark: Artwork of the Macabre, Strange, and Bizarre’ Fiche made three single color, one-off screen-prints.  At first I was shocked by the singularity of color, but quickly realized that the lack of color let me focus on the drawing itself, which is my favorite feature of his work.  Fiche also provided the illustration that was used as the flyer and poster for ‘A Walk Through the Dark: Artwork of the Macabre, Strange, and Bizarre’.  All work for the show is on display at the OhNo!Doom Gallery until May 10th, or on our online shop.
